My name is Kyle James Kellerman and I am a first-year, college seminarian for the Diocese of Belleville. My home parish is St. Mary Magdalen in Todds Mill, Illinois. I also attended St. Bruno Catholic School in Pinckneyville, Illinois, which, alongside my family, is where my Catholic faith was first fostered.
This upbringing in Catholic education greatly impacted my vocation because it taught me that God should always be the center of your life in every situation. I experienced a great deepening of faith during the Covid-19 shutdown which continued throughout high school.
When I graduated in 2023, I had a small call to enter seminary and pursue the priesthood for this diocese. Still, I decided to attend Rend Lake College for one year to pursue a degree in elementary education to teach in our diocese’s parochial schools. In one short summer following this, Christ moved me to enter seminary and begin my journey to the Catholic Priesthood at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary as a college seminarian.
